Just for Dad Odyssey + Bookshelf
Just for Dad Odyssey + Bookshelf
Every desk needs a reminder of why the work is worth doing.
Not every read-aloud happens on the couch. Some happen in stolen minutes at a desk, between meetings, where a father keeps the story that reminds him who he's striving to be.
This set pairs the Heirloom Bookshelf — engraved with a Spartan helm and the closing lines of Tennyson's "Ulysses" — with Homer's original: "That which we are, we are; / One equal temper of heroic hearts, / Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will / To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." Words written for a king who'd already come home, and still wasn't finished.
The set includes:
- The Heirloom Bookshelf, hand-carved with a Spartan helm and the Ulysses quotation, finished in solid oak and walnut
- The Odyssey, a beautifully illustrated hardcover edition
- A clip-on reading light, so the story is never more than an arm's reach away
Built for the desk, not just the shelf — because the work of being a father doesn't clock out, and neither should the stories that shape it.
Book and shelf sold together only as this set.
